Streetcar
The South Lake Union streetcar line is currently under construction and the first passengers will board the new streetcar in the fall of 2007—just a few short months from now. Getting in and around South Lake Union is about to get a whole lot easier!
With stops conveniently located every couple of blocks, residents and visitors will be able to glide throughout the neighborhood on the electric streetcar and easily connect to downtown retail, restaurants and services. Starting at the Westlake Center transit hub which connects to light rail and Metro, the streetcar will travel 1.3 miles down Westlake Avenue to the new Lake Union Park, on to the Fred Hutchinson Research Center and back to Westlake Center.
