Arts and Entertainment

For many years, South Lake Union has been home to dozens of local artists, musicians and craftspeople, as well as arts and theater organizations and schools. Today, nearly 50 artists, organizations and theaters are located in South Lake Union, including Cornish College of the Arts, 911 Media Arts Center, Open Circle Theater and the School of Visual Concepts.

Vulcan's plan for enlivening the streetscapes of South Lake Union includes incorporating artwork into the public realm of its development projects. This includes the 7' tall large-scale figurative ceramic sculptures at 2200, the bronze Ping Pong Plaza with stainless steel net and line inlays at the Rosetta Building and the two multi-layered, tempered-glass screens in front of the SBRI Building.

The vision for the neighborhood includes fostering the growth of more arts and entertainment in South Lake Union, including new art galleries and venues for live music.
